Download for iPod Residents of Rochester were invited to celebrate the area’s history during a two-day festival known as Heritage Days. Rochester Municipal Park provided the scenic setting for Civil War Re-enactments, demonstrations, arts & crafts, activities and more. The Rochester Lions Club hosted a classic car show in conjunction with the festival.

NEWS: Fire & Ice Fest 2011
As January came to a close the City of Rochester joined forces with Oakland County and Rochester Hills to host a 3-day winter celebration known as Fire & Ice Fest. Visitors took part in activities such as downhill tubing, ice skating and a taste fest as ice sculptures lined the streets of downtown.

The Rochester Fire Department had a Solar Roof installed in December. The goal is to save the City over $150,000 over the 25 year life span of the Solar Panels.

On December 3rd, 2010, Auburn Hills Mayor James McDonald presented Santa Claus with the key to the City during the 17th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. Residents gathered to sing Christmas carols as the Mayor and Santa were joined by area children to light up downtown Auburn Hills.

The Rochester Area Heritage Festival celebrated its 33rd year on September 25th & 26th. Taking place on the campus of Rochester College, music, food and hands-on activities encouraged families to celebrate the history of the Rochester area.

In its 45th year the 2010 Art & Apples Festival took place in Rochester Municipal Park September 10-12. 265 artists took part in a juried art show and over 100,000 attended the event which is the largest fundraiser of the year for the Paint Creek Center for the Arts.
